Friends
Here are some photos of my friends.
My Mom, Dad, Sister, brother, and I at my sister's wedding. 1991
This is my family. I think we get along better than most families, and I would have to consider my parents and siblings my best friends. My theory as to why we are so close is that we moved around so much when we were young, we didn't have time to make long term friends; we were all we had. That's pretty cool, and I would want it no other way.

Brady, Debbie and I in Rome, Italy 1991.

David and Lena doing Tai Chi. 1991.
I met David in Mr D's Photography class at Herndon High School in about 1985 when we were in the 10th grade. We began "escaping" from high school to go to Wendy's for lunch, and then began cutting class to go to DC. We had a lot of adventures including driving his super bad 1979 Trans AM (with a 455 motor) to Ocean City Maryland, camping out at the IMSA race in Conneticutt, and skiing at Perfect North Slopes in Cincinnatti. We were pretty much opposites when we met, and it's really pretty amazing we remained friends for so long. David was a great mechanic, and I always envied him. Shortly after I returned to college to study mecahnical engineering, he went to Purdue to study Nuclear engineering. He now was a Master's degree in nuclear engineering and works at Bicron in Cleveland, OH. Lena, also shown in the picture, was David's girlfriend at the time, and now soon to be his wife.

Dave and Brady at a wedding. 1991.
Big Dave we call him.I met big Dave when I worked at Heckler and Koch in Chantilly, VA. We were both warehouse scum, and a lot of peopole called me Dave's protege.Dave was a good ole boy from West Virginia. Together we watched NASCAR races. I rooted for the rebel Alan Kulwicki, and rooted for good ole (bad) Dale Earnhardt. I was the best man at Dave's wedding, which meant a lot to me. Big Dave is now married to (little) David's sister. Is that a bizarre coincidence or what? By the way, Dave and David had never met, and when Dave met David's sister, he had no idea who she was and vice versa. It almost makes me feel like we're one big family now.

My brother Brady. 1997
Braad is my brother and best friend. We have lived together in Lexington for more than 3 years now. I cam't imagine life without him. We do about everything together. We have a lot of adventures together including our finest month long road trip around America in 1991, lots of camping trips at race tracks, and of course we are great teammates playing video sports.

Craig at MIS. 1993.
I met Craig at Morehead State University in my calculus class. Craig was a really great friend. This photo was taken when we went to Michigan Speedway for the NASCAR race. It was funny because he had never been to a NASCAR race and didn't have a favorite driver. I told him having a favorite driver was important. So we went out to a morning practice session. Most of the cars would come out and do a warm up lap before getting up to speed. Mark Martin, however, did his first lap at top speed. Craig was so impressed, he was sold on Mark Martin. He bought the #6 flag ,and the rest is history.

Nile at Watkins Glen with Randy Macdonald's truck. 1997.
I met Nile in about 1984 through his sister, who was friends with a girl I was in love with. The girls are gone, but Nile and I still remain friends. We have done a lot together. Our greatest adventure was surely when we went to North Carolina to plant trees. We saw an ad in a farming magazine about how you could make a fortune lanting trees as a migrant worker. So we headed down there with no money, got a hotel room apartment thing in Surf City, NC. They paid you by the number of trees you planted. The high money they promised was only acheived if you planted like three bags of trees; Nile and I were struggling to plant ONE bag in a day. Some times we'd take a handful of those stupid saplings and throw them in a stream. Step, step, step, whack, plant, kick is how it went all day with the bag of saplings and a big ass ho dad. This was no fertile farm land either; we were planting in areas where there had been forest fires. So, we trudged over burnt ground and dead trees sometimes planting saplings in a dead burnt tree! After a few days of this, we decided it sucked, so we quit. Looking back, that was pretty stupid because we still owed money for the place we were staying in. So, I went to work for Chanellos, a pizza delivery place on the Camp Lejune Marine base in Jacksonville. We finally ended up crying to our parents to send us money so we could go home.
