Jimmy
Buffet
Lakewood Ampitheater
Atlanta, GA
April 16, 2009
This
was the first Jimmy Buffet concert we've seen, and
we had a great time. Braad and Kristen and their friends
Matt, Jenny and Tracy came over from Virginia Beach.
We all went in Matt's SUV and took advantage of the
VIP parking Matt bought. Thanks Matt! That was great!
We were literally only a few feet from the gate! We
tailgated for a about an hour and had some drinks
and pizza. The show was fun. The people there were
fun loving types you would expect to see at a beach
on Spring Break. We were in the lawn and couldn't
see much, but the atmosphere was fun. I was kind of
surprised to hear Jimmy Buffet with so many of his
own songs doing a number of cover songs.... that was
strange. Especially when he sang "We all live
in a Yellow Submarine". I thought it was goofy,
but everyone there thought it was great... of course
this was toward the end of the show and everyone was
pretty well drunk and high; "YAY! Yellow Submarine
Duuuuude!" Anyway, it was a good time, and we
will go again.

We
almost didn't go to this show because we had baby
Kaylee, and we were flying to MA the next day. However,
we found a babysitter in Birmingham and made it to
the show. It was a good show, but I noticed little
differences. The guitar sounded a little "off"
on Christmas Eve Sarevjo, and Chris Caffery looked
like he had cut his hair. Then, at "half time"
we realized why. Funny guy Chris Caffery did not make
his usual appearance. That is when we realized we
were watching the West Coast TSO band! The show and
music was the same, but it was different people than
we have seen all other 6-7 times. It was a good show,
but the different musicians was kind of dissapointing.
Next year we will be sure to go to the East Coast
band.
Iron
Maiden Somewhere Back in Time with Lauren Harris
Somewhere Back In Time
June 20, 2008
Comcast Center
Mansfield, MA
When
I first saw this show announced, the only dates I
saw were for CA and NJ. I could have made the long
trip from GA to NJ, but the date was the first week
of March, the same week my daughter Kaylee was scheduled
to be born! "Not going to make it this year"
I thought. Content I wasn't going to see Maiden this
year, I later saw an announcement of more dates and
low and behold they were playing in MA; hmmm, it just
so happens we were planning a family trip to MA this
summer; how handy! So, I bought three tickets determined
to finallly take my 13 year old daughter since she
was finally old enough. I have tried since she was
7 to get her into Maiden, and she likes some of their
songs like Lightning Strikes Twice and Don't Look
Into The Eyes of a Stranger from Virtual XI. Also,
I wanted Melissa to witness the spectacle that is
an Iron Maiden show. I wanted her to see the guys
are fun, not evil, and the music is well orchestrated
and the lyrics are meaningful. However, when we got
up to MA, I realized I would be dragging Melissa and
she would not have any fun. Likewise, I have lost
Samantha to the hip-hop crap and she didn't really
want to go. I tried to coax Braad into flying up from
VA for the weekend, but that was too much unfortuneatley
because I think he really wanted to go. So, I sold
the tickets on eBay for almost cost and went by myself.
When
I first got to the Comcast Center (aka Tweeter Center,
Greatwoods), I was impressed to see the parking lot
and center packed with Iron Maiden fans! How cool
is that?! 2008 and Maiden is packing them in! My second
thought was "I am getting too old for this shit."
People in their 40s wearing concert t-shirts are starting
to look odd to me, and I am considering getting rid
of all my old concert shirts because if they look
odd.... yeah. Regardless, I had to resist buying a
t-shirt this time around.
I
had one beer, by myself, then took my seat early.
Soon after my Ebay buyers showed up. That was odd,
but he was a pretty cool guy and it was his first
time seeing Maiden!
I
was really anxious to hear Lauren Harris' band since
she is Steve's daughter; how cool is that?! I listened
to her songs on Myspace to get ready. I guess the
majority of the fans did not do the same because the
crowd was non existant. It must suck to be a new opening
band; a lot of hard work playing songs the fans don't
know and a lot of unappreceative fans. This fat nasty
woman sitting in front of me even held up her middle
finger after Lauren Harris told the fans to "raise
their hands!" I glared at that horrible woman
the rest of the show; what a lack of respect. She
doesn't deserve to be a Maiden fan! Damnit!
I
thought Lauren did a great job singing and talking
to the fans despite the lack of response; she has
some great instructors with her dad and the great
showman Bruce Dickinson. Her guitarist is fantastic,
but he almost seemed to be too much with the playing
behind his head and such. She opened with a remake
of Natural Thing by UFO. I thought that was great
because I have been a UFO fan for a long time and
know that song well. However, with the new Maiden
fans out in the seats that probably don't know that
song, she may have been better off playing a Maiden
song to rev up the fans; not something they were going
to play, but maybe something off Killers or something
the fans might now. Again, I thought it was AWESOME,
but the people around me were just sitting there like
they were watching a rerun on TV. The rest of the
songs were Lauren's, which I kind of knew since I
listened to the them a few times. I was happy to hear
the music was more METAL than I was expecting. I will
be following her and hope she keeps singing.
The
place filled up like crazy as the sun went down and
the time got closer for Maiden to take the stage.
I was down in section 3, row AA, and looking around
at all the people made me feel kind of closterphobic.
It was very impressive to see that many fans. They
finally dimmed the lights and put UFO's Doctor Doctor
on the stereo; the restless fans cheered and waved
their arms. The veteran fans, like me, knew this was
it; here they come! The guy next to me sat back down
thinking it was a false alarm. Then, for the first
time, Maiden used the big screen displays next to
the stage and showed a video clip of the Maiden guys
on this tour, Bruce flying the Maiden 737, Ed Force
One. Then, it started showing clips of black and white
of WWII fighters then busted into Aces High and suddenly
appeared on stage!
Bruce
was great and more a comedian than usual. They played
Revalations, surprised me with Number of the Beast
including a ton of flame pots which is new for them
lately, Run to the Hills, Fear of the Dark and the
fans sang their part quite well. I loved when they
played Rime of the Ancient Mariner, one of my favorites
and the only time I have seen it live since the Powerslave
tour in the 1980s. They performed it better too. They
had lots of flame pots going off and when "down
comes the rain" the had the stage filled with
smoke and they lit off a bunch of fireworks that cascaded
down in front of the stage; pretty cool. They also
played Powerslave, Two Minutes to Midnight, Can I
Play With Madness, and another Seventh Son song. I
left after the first encore song to beat the traffic.
Bruce commented that there was more fans there than
he had ever seen before, and I agree. He asked how
many people were less than 26 years old, and about
half the fans raised their hands! He said they are
becoming popular and trendy now but not sure why because
as always they do what they want with their music.
He said MTV wanted them to allow a live feed from
one of their concerts, to which the fans cheered.
Then he said Maiden has never received any favors
from MTV or radio over the years, and they told MTV
to shove it to which he received even more cheers.
It
was a great show, and I changed my opinion about not
returning. I will go see them again.

We went to the TSO show last night. The place was
packed!! It's amazing they can do pretty much the
same show every year for the past 6 years, and we
just don't get sick of it. They hang on to the classic
Christmas story, then Chris Caffrey does his comedy
bit (wearing a Hurricanes jersey, who he congratulated
for winning the Stanley Cup). A funny and compassionate
guy, he first introduced and asked for appluase for
the crew that puts up and down the stage every night.
He also thanked our military and said "without
them we wouldn't be here, and you wouldn't be out
there" to great appluase. They keep the show
from getting old by introducing new stuff every year.
Last year they through Caffery and the bassist on
a scissor platform thing on the opposite side of the
stage that lifted to the rafters as they jammed. I
guess they liked that because this year they also
put two female vocalists on the platform for one song,
and they had flame pots mounted on it, which was really
cool. They also added some new plasma/neon looking
lights over the stage. With all the laser, lights,
flames, plasma lights, every year, the stage looks
more and more like a space ship landing!
This is the 3rd year they have done a drum solo; surprisingly
Samantha jumped to her feet for a standing ovation
after the solo!! She loved it. They mixed in fun-time
cover song that everyone knows and sang along with,
but I'm not sure of the original artist. This year
they added a keyboard duel, which was VERY cool and
funny ending up with some classics like the Charlie
Brown song and transitioned into one of our favorite
songs off the new album "Wishlizt"
They had some pretty bad miscues on Mad Russian's
Christmas and really blotched the entro of Christmas
Eve Sarejvo, which must have something to do with
RBC Center because last year (our first at RBC) was
the first time we heard dramatic miscues; all the
times we saw them in Boston and Providence, not a
one. It wasn't that bad and they recovered quickly;
most people probably didn't notice. Maiden probably
had more miscues in NJ. The good thing about them
is that you KNOW it's live!
Caffery asked "Do you guys remember that house
that was decorated with lights to a cool song that
was going around the Internet last year?" then
they played Wizards of Winter to a wild light show
that put that house to shame; still cool though.
Iron
Maiden with Bullet For My Valentine
A Matter Of Life And Death Tour
October 13, 2006
Continetal Airlines Arena
New Jersey
I went to the Maiden show in New Jersey on Friday
13. I drove 9 hours from Raleigh, NC! I hope Maiden
comes down south next time around because I'm not
up for the 9 hour drive in New Jersey rush hour again.
I was impressed with Bullet For My Valentine; the
vocals could use some improvement, but muscially,
I thought they were excellent. Maiden hit the stage
about 15 minutes late; someone made an announcement
that someone was stuck in traffic. I completely understood
since I just drove through that nightmare. The classic
Doctor Doctor by UFO announced their entrance as usual
lately. They had an interesting intro with red lights
and some orchestrated music that reminded me of "Star
Wars". I thought that was a pretty cool intro,
but I think most of the Continental Airlines arena
didn't really know what to make of that; the frantic
cheers turned into silence and most people looked
at the stage in wonder like a dog with it's head tilted
sideways.
They
tore out of the gates playing Different World (one
of my MOLAD favorites), and continued with the new
album from beginning to end. This wasn't a surprise
to me because I saw it being talked about here on
IMOC. I'm not so sure about the decision to do that;
I would have mixed in more of the classics just to
keep the fans from sitting down. But, I have to hand
it Iron Maiden for doing something so gutsy. Personally,
I LOVED hearing the new album in its entirety even
though they had a few miscues and got pretty lost
on one of the songs like they skipped a big portion
of it. I could sing along and drum along with the
new songs because I BOUGHT THE NEW ALBUM as soon as
I could, and I had listened to it for 9 HOURS on my
drive to NJ! I wasn't able to "let go" much
though as the people around me were standing, but
that's all they did. So, that made it a bit akward
for me to go nuts a flail my arms around. The guy
next to me so was so dis-interested in the new music
that he thought it was more interesting to watch the
discussion of who had what seat in front of us or
play with his cell-phone than the live CONCERT on
the stage. The guys behind me got tired of standing
after a couple songs and sat down, which surely made
it impossible to see anything; I don't know why they
didn't just leave. It was the most lifeless crowd
I have EVER seen at a Maiden show. After the third
song from the new album this guy in front of me starting
yelling "NO
NO! They can't be doing this!
I thought I was coming to a Maiden show!!". From
there he only got worse. After Bruce announced that
they were in fact playing the new album from beginning
to end, this guy FLIPPED out and began yelling at
the stage and flipping them off. His friend was moritified
and no one else around wanted to make any more of
a scene than the guy was creating on his own, so we
all just watched the stage and tried to ignore this
guy. I wished the guy would just leave if he was that
unhappy. I thought to myself "I guess you should
have bought the new album." I mean, the show
was supporting the new album, so I don't know what
he was expecting to hear. The guy finally left, and
after that I enjoyed the show much more.
My
favorite song was For The Greater Good Of God; that
rocked! There was a little life from the crowd during
Benjamin Breeg, thanks to the unprecedented AIRPLAY
for Maiden in the US; SWEET! I hope that keeps up.
I
really have to hand it to the Jersey/NY fans for hanging
in there for the most part. The people on the floor
were rocking for the whole show, but they probably
didn't care what music was playing. When they got
to the last MOLAD song The Legacy, I was going to
head out and beat the crowd because I felt like I
was the only one there that actually knew that it
was the last song on the new album (sad), but I'm
glad I didn't because the patient NJ/NY fans were
rewarded with Fear Of The Dark, which we all responded
to very nicely. When they started playing their signature
close, Iron Maiden, I sang it on my way out. A rough
start with the disgruntled fans, but I ended up having
a great time. If you're going to the show, have fun
and buy the new album!

July 24, 2005
As Maiden released tour dates for their Early Years
tour this year, I thought they were going to skip
USA, but finally it was announced they were joining
part of the Ozzfest! Braad and I are going...
We just got back from the Maiden show; it was great!
In Flames had a good sound. BLS was great, but Zakk
wasn't much of a showman; the crowd sucked too; most
people were just sitting there. I wish I was in the
pit for BLS; it was rocking. Mudvayne had a great
band leader/showman, but I didn't care much for their
music. Iron Maiden was awesome! The place was rocking,
and all the fans were into it standing the whole time...
well, except for this one old dude in front of us;
he just sat there with his arms crossed. Weird. Braad
and I wondered "Why are you even here dude?"
Anyway, our voices were gone after Maiden. I was screaming
along with every song! The show was too short; only
an hour, but it was still great. They only had a couple
vocal miscues. No sounds problems other than that.
Bruce Dickinson remains the BEST showman in the business!
They intro'd as usual with UFO's Doctor Doctor playing
(I still don't know the story behind that), then they
played pre-recorded The Ides of March, all ran onto
the stage and busted into Wrathchild! They continued
to play The Trooper, Revelations. Before the next
song Bruce said "I wasn't even with the band
when they made this song. I heard it and said "who
the fuck are these guys?!?"". He also said
this is probably the first and last time we'd ever
hear the song live then played Phantom of the Opera!
They continued with Run to the Hills, The Number of
the Beast, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Iron Maiden where
EDDIE came on the stage. They encored with Running
Free, then Sanctuary. I think they did the best with
the hour they could. Bruce announced the new album
coming out next year; I'm psyched! We had a break
and decided to take off and skip the Black Sabbath
/ Ozzy show. I wanted to see a little bit just to
be able to say Maiden was better. We heard some of
War Pigs on the walk out to the car, and he still
sounds pretty good. As soon as I got home from the
show I ironically saw a license plate "FE MAIDN".
The woman reminded me FE is the periodic table's symobl
for Iron! Pretty cool!

This is the fourth year we've seen TSO at the holidays;
it is truly a tradition now! This year we brought
Samantha with us, and Melissa's Mother came too. Samantha
was blown away by the light show. They added more
to their light show retaining the laser and falling
snow over the audience this year. Very cool. Chris
Caffery was funny as always, and they changed the
show a little bit this year which made it seem new
to us veterans. We broke our streak of seeing TSO
in a row however; we had tickets to the 2003 show
in OH, so Braad could go with us, but at the last
minute, we pulled the plug because of a snow storm.
I mean we had the tickets, the cars were packed and
everything. But the 2004 show made up for it. Braad
still hasn't made a show, but maybe next year. I was
sad to see Daryl Pediford missing. What a great, funny
guy with the most incredible voice, and his commradaree
with Chris Caffery was a joy to watch. Chris announced
that Daryl died earlier in the year. He will be sorely
missed, and I feel honored to have seen him live.

Melissa and I went to this concert, and it was of
the best times we have ever had! I have seen better
concerts, but the facility was the most amazing I
have ever seen. It is like a park with many open stages
scattered everywhere. Absolutley the most beatiful
facility to see a concert. Melissa had seens shows
there before the big corporate buyout of everything,
so she refuses to call it "Tweeter Center";
instead, she calls it Great Woods, which is it's classic
name. We only saw the tail end of Nickelback, and
I wish we would have seen more of that because I have
grown to like their music more now. 3 Doors Down put
on a great show, and like I said, Melissa and I had
a GREAT time!
Iron
Maiden
Dance of Death Tour
January 23, 2004
Hammerstein Ballroom
New York, NY
Again
I had two tickets to the Maiden show and Braad couldn't
make it. This one I didn't waver at all about going.
This show was right in the middle of downtown Manhattan.
I took the train from Providence to New York Penn
station and walked to a Howard Johnson hotel. It was
the biggest shithole I have ever seen! The floors
were tilted, the hallways were very narrow, and you
had to close the elevator door! But, under $100 in
Manhattan... I'll take it. It was great too because,
I just had to walk 2 blocks to the concert! This show
was general admission, which kind of sucked. We stood
in this big long line freezing our butts off, but
that was kind of a bonding experience, and I befriended
a couple from Wisconsin. I saw them again inside and
ended up sitting next to them and having a few beers.
There were these two heavy new yorkers guys that were
cracking me up the whole show. They were trying to
get the woman from WI to do the 70s Show Kitty impersonation.
They were also ripping the opening band, Arch Enemy
who I didn't care much for. They are one of those
thrash metal "ra-ra-ra-ra" bands, but the
guteral singer was a female! One of the New Yorkers
guys said "I don't like that music when a guy
sings, much less a girl". Whoever picked them
as an opening act for Iron Maiden should have their
head examined. I was hoping a good band like Iced
Earth or Symphony X would have opened. Oh well. Well,
the Maiden show was awesome. I don't remember the
setlist, but songs I remember are:
WILDEST
DREAMS
WRATHCHILD
CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS
TROOPER
DANCE OF DEATH
RAINMAKER
BRAVE NEW WORLD
PASCHENDALE
LORD OF THE FLIES
NO MORE LIES
HALLOWED BE THY NAME
FEAR OF THE DARK
IRON MAIDEN
JOURNEYMAN
THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST
RUN TO THE HILLS
Braad
was bumming because he wanted to be there. So, I called
him on my cell during the suck Arch Enemy set, and
when Maiden came on, I called Braad again and clipped
my phone to my pants. Braad told me later he listened
to the concert over the phone at his house! This was
a very theatrical show, and my favorite song was Paschendale.
They had smoke and WWI military props, and Bruce was
dressed in a WWI outfit. I missed Montsegur; that
would have been great, and I could have done without
the all acoustic Journeyman, but it was a great show.
Disturbed
March 29, 2003
Hershey Sports Complex
Hershey, PA
Braad and I met up in Philly on Friday and hung out
with Mom and Dad. I had a suck headache on Saturday
and didn't clear up until we headed to Hershey at
about 4:00pm. That sucked, but at least I was ready
for the concert. Braad and I both were tempted to
bail on the concert and just make a drink and play
video games all night, but neither of us proposed
that. We went to the concert and watched Unloco, Chevelle,
and TapRoot. To miss any one of those shows would
not have been a big loss; of the three, I think Unloco
was the best. Chevelle's music and especially guitar
were really good, but every time the guy started singing,
it kind of blew the song. His voice is so soft and
harmonic, it just doesn't match the music. Disturbed
finally came on at 10:00pm. They had a great looking
set. The sound was pretty aweful though. The bass
and drums were so high that they reverberated through
the entire Hershey Sports Complex. You couldn't even
hear the guitar, but the vocals were turned up really
high. The vocals were awesome, and that is the best
I have ever heard any singer's voice hold up live
even though his voice went out on one song, he quickly
recovered. However, the music behind the awesome vocals
was just a blur of the song's tempo.
The Disturbed lead singer was kind of a turn off to
me; he was like a cult leader ordering the fans to
stand up, jump, etc. However, I tried to not let that
bother me too much.
The concert took place at the Hershey Sports Complex,
which is a dirt hole and should just be wrecked. The
Hershey Bears (Colordao Avalanche's AHL farm team)
have moved to a new arena next door called Giant Arena.
We left the Disturbed show early and beat all the
traffic, so we could get back to the hotel and have
some drinks and play Madden football and hockey.
On Sunday morning, we awoke to find a couple inches
of snow! NO! I thought Hell Winter was over! We went
to Bob Evans and had a big fatty breakfast before
heading home. It was a fun weekend, but too short
as usual.
Iron
Maiden with Dio and Motorhead
Gimme Ed Till I'm Dead Tour
July 25, 2003
Tommy Hilfiger Theater at Jones Beach
Jones Beach, NY
I had two tickets to this show, and I almost didn't
go because Braad couldn't make it. I had never been
to a concert by myself, so even when I was in the
hotel on Saturday, I almost bailed going at all. I
kind of forced myself to go, and boy am I ever glad
I did! That's the most fun I've ever had while sober!
I drove down on Friday night and stayed in a way too
expensive hotel in Rockville Centre, NY, about 14
miles from JFK airport on Long Island. I have never
really seen much of New York, and I have a terrible
image of New York and the people there, but I gained
a lot of respect for the area while down there. I
drove into New York at about 9:00pm, so I saw the
massiveness of the city, bridges all lit up, planes
flying overhead, huge buildings everywhere. It was
really breathtaking; it was like the biggest city
I have ever seen multiplied by four! Also, many people
I interacted with were surprisingly friendly and pleasent
including the police officer working the toll booth,
the Hampton Inn clerk, an old lady in the hotel elevator,
and people at the concert. So, I came back thinking,
New York isn't so bad.
Motorhead opened the show at 7:00pm. My seats were
great, and the theater was modern and gorgeous. It
was open air and right on the beach. On either side
of the stage you could see the water; it was as if
the stage was sitting on a pier in the water. Very
cool. So, while the band was playing, you could see
water, airplanes, boats, and birds in your periphials.
I had never seen Motorhead before. I went once when
I was like 16 in the 1980s to an all ages metal show
in DC, but Motorhead didn't show up.
I enjoyed this show SO much, I wanted to take Melissa,
Braad, and/or Samantha, so I bought tickets to the
Columbus show too, but I ended up not going at all.

the changed things a lot and added an awesome light

at the Summer Sanitarium show, and their makeup show
which I wouldn't be able to go to in the middle of

away (sigh). Then, I heard on the radio that the show
was moved to Rupp Arena in Lexington, which was about
10 minutes from my house!! "Oh we're going."
I told Braad. The tickets were free to those that
had Summer Santitarium ticket stubs. I can't remember
the name of the opening band, but they were from West
Virginia, played all instrumentals, and named all
of their songs by numbers; very unique, and I liked
their hard sound. Metallica in tiny Rupp Arena where
Kentucky basketball is played?? Oh my. It was like
watching Metallica in a tiny club; my God it was loud.
The sound wasn't the best, but the atmosphere was.
Wow! That must be the coolest show I've ever seen.
Between the opening band and Metallica, I have never
seen so many women flash their boobs! At first it
was like "Wow! Did you see that?" After
a while, I was like "Get on with the music already!
I'm sick of seeing boobs!"

awesome. We didn't stay to watch Metallica, but I

2000 began. As everyone else worried about planes
falling out of the sky and power plants shutting down,
we were more worried about how all of the band members
from each band could get on the stage at the same
time and play Detroit Rock City! That show kicked
ass! That also makes the third time I've seen Ted
Nugent live. However, at this show he was out-headlined
by Metallica and Kid Rock, and I don't think he was
too happy about it.
Blues
Travelers and Johnny Lang 1999 The Palace
in Lousville, KY. Great show. Johnny Lang wales his
guitar and sounds very much like Greg Almond. Blues
Travelers were great too. They even did Charlie Daniels'
Devil Went Down to Georgia using a harmonica for all
the fiddle parts; very cool.
Green
Day at The Roxy Theater in Atlanta, GA. 1999
I didn't fit in with the moshing crowd too well,
but Green Day was wild.
Pildowman
and Jimmie's Chicken Shack 1999 at The
Point in Atlanta, GA. Awesome show!!! Pildowman
I'd never heard of before, but they played some good
music, and the bass guitarist was a hilarious comedian.
Jimmie's Chicken Shack rocked the house. It was great,
and I highly recommend anyone to see them live!
Ted
Nugent and Gary Hoey Whiplash Bash 1994
COBO Hall, Detroit, MI. Gary Hoey was a surprise guest
at this show, and I thought it was great!
Ted
Nugent and General Clusterfunk Whiplash Bash
1993 COBO Hall, Detroit, MI.
Def
Leppard 1990 Merriweather Post Pavilion, Maryland.
Braad, Nile and I stayed completely sober for this
show then drove all night to the Pocono NASCAR race.
Dio
1985 Washington Capital Center , Washington DC.
This was a bonding conert for Braad and I.
Sammy
Hagar and Krokus 1985 Washington Cap Center, Washington
DC. Braad and I went to see this show after none of
my friends came. This really began Braad and I's bonding
from our falling out in Saudi. It was funny because
we thought we were seeing Krokus since we thought
they were the main band. So, we watched an entire
Sammy Hagar concert thinking in was Krokus the whole
time. We even bought Krokus shirts! It was the next
day when we found out we had watched Sammy Hagar.
What a couple MO MOs!
Iron
Maiden (Piece of Mind Tour) and Accept 1984
Merriweather Post Pavilion, Maryland
Iron
Maiden (Number of the Beast Tour) and Judas
Priest 1983
Washington Cap Center, Wachington DC
Blue
Oyster Cult 1983 George Washington University
Gymnasium. This was a kick ass show, and still one
of my favorites. It was a tiny gymnasium, and BOC
had this big Grim Reaper above the stage blowing smoke.
I remember the opening band was booed off the stage,
and all the friends I was with were dropping acid
and all spaced out. I think I was the only sober person
there; shit, I was only 15 years old! I was totally
into the music while the guys I was with were in a
different world. I was sitting right next to the amps,
and I just rocked to Don't Fear the Reapor.
Van
Halen 1983 -Washington Cap Center, Washington,
DC. The first show I ever saw! This was the real Van
Halen before they wussed out.
