Summer
2003
Melissa, Samantha and I went on a week long multi
facet vacation. First, we drove to Virigina Beach
on July 3 and July 4 stopping over in Philly at Dad's
house and arriving in Virgina Beach on July 4. We
met up with Braad and Melissa's brother Mike. We feasted
at Captain George's with Braad's friends, and went
to the beach. We spent about an hour in the ocean
before the sun started going down. We didn't have
any boogie boards, so I was trying to teach Samantha
to body surf. She did well, and I was impressed to
see her taking the wave so well. She took a lot of
big waves, which I helped push her into losing my
grip on her. So, she ended up by herself with a big
wave, which worried me. But, she just hopped right
up eager for another one. It was great.
The fireworks show was the BEST 4th of July ever!
We were on a comfortabley roomy part of the beach,
so we were just relaxing. As soon as the sun started
going down people started lighting off their own fireworks.
The darker it got, the more fireworks went off. Hotels
were shooting off little shows, people were shooting
theirs, there was a big show in the city, and the
main show was coming off a boat in the water. There
was rows of boats out in the water, and everywhere
you looked there were fireworks going off. It was
awesome! Like we were in a war zone!
July 5th we had a nightmare drive over to Williamsburg.
Water Country. Atrocious parking. Pretty cool, but
HOT.
Pretty cheesy hotel.
July 6th we spend all day at Busch Gardens. Very impressive
place. Awesome landscaping.
Imaginique. Cool show.
Sam at 11:00pm I joked we could go by the bar on the
way home, and Sam says "Yeah, we could get a
couple beers, and a glass of wine and we'll be good."
July 7th all day at Busch Gardens. Das Festhaus.
July 8th
Colonial Williamsburg. Cool history. HOT!
Stayed at Braad's that night.
July 9th
Drive to Pocono. Hot weather finally went away.
The passenger window on my Jetta broke, and Braad,
Melissa, and I drove to Scranton to fix it. We "had"
to kill some time in a mall. I got a Primal Fear CD
which would be become a favorite band.
Moods Game
Melissa "Umm Cheesy!" with Tense tone. Hilarious.
Weej at 1:30am (really tired) after playing Scattergories
"It would have been more fun if I was concious"
Braad and I bailed on Metallica concert in Philly
to stay with family
Everyone sat in a big U on the back porch talking
and laughing. Great time.
Kids
raced kiddie go carts at Pocono fun place, and we
raced adult go carts.
On
the drive back, we stopped at a rest area. Melissa
and I were sitting on a curb, and suddenly Melissa
jumped up screaming "Ahhh Ahhhhh Ahhhhh Ahhhhh!".
She claimed there was a spider on her hand, but I
never saw anything. It was hilarious!
